The event kicked off with a TQT update including recent developments of The Quantum Collaboratory, followed by a quantum showcase that included posters, demonstrations, and lab tours. The afternoon featured the theme of Quantum for Health (Q4Health), with remarks from Vivek Goel, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Waterloo, Nipun Vats, Assistant Deputy Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and David Cory, Principal Investigator, TQT. There were nineteen teams competing for the best pitch awards as part of the Q4Health Design Challenge.
CEVR formed two teams for two projects, both projects were awarded CAD$1000 to develop their ideas!
1. Entangled Vision: Quantum Tools for Retinal Diagnostics –Dusan S. , Dmitry Pushin, Ben Thompson & Connor Kapahi, and
2. Quantum Imaging of Human Retina – Dusan Sarenac, Ben Thompson & Mukhit Kulmaganbetov
