Dr Franco Leung obtained a Bachelor of Science (2011) and a Master of Philosophy (2013) in Chemical Technology from PolyU. He then earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2017. After that, he joined Prof. Ben L. Feringa’s group (2016 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry) at the University of Groningen as a postdoc fellow. Dr Leung returned to PolyU as an Assistant Professor in 2019, his research focuses on using synthetic organic chemistry to build new supramolecular structures, functions and hierarchical systems. He has published 25 research papers in leading chemistry journals, such as Nature Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. In recognition of Dr Leung’s contribution to the field of dynamic supramolecular materials, he received the Croucher Innovation Award 2021, PolyU Young Innovative Researcher Award 2022 and The Rising Star of Polymer Journal 2023. Congratulations to Dr.France Leung!
