The World’s Largest Inventions Exhibition | CEVR Research Projects Won Two Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury and the Special Prize from ‘’Lucian Blaga’’ University of Sibiu, Romania

Congratulations to two of CEVR's innovative projects, the Structured Light Observation and Perception Evaluation (SLOPE) Device and ObstAR – Augmented Reality (AR) Software Built to Aid the Visually Impaired, have received remarkable recognition at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva . Both projects were awarded the prestigious Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury, signifying their outstanding contributions to the field of Eye and Vision Health!

But that's not all! SLOPE has also received a special prize from 'Lucian Blaga' University of Sibiu, Romania, honoring its scientific creativity and originality. 
SLOPE, developed by the talented research teammates Dr. Mukhit Kulmaganbetov and Mr. Taranjit Singh, under the guidance of CEVR Principal Investigator Dr. Dmitry Pushin and Dr. Dusan Sarenac, is revolutionizing early detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). By utilizing quantized spin-orbit beams, SLOPE generates a unique entoptic pattern, enabling early intervention and reducing the risk of vision loss. 
ObstAR, developed by the outstanding research teammates Mr. Nadim Zaro, Mr. Jakie WANG, Dr. Jie Ding JING, and Dr. Ke ZHANG, under the leadership of Prof. Allen Cheong, CEVR Principal Investigator cum Deputy Director, and Prof. Ben Thompson, CEVR Principal Investigator cum CEO and Scientific Director, addresses the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. This personalized navigation device, leveraging augmented reality technology, empowers users to move independently and safely, reducing their reliance on traditional assistive tools like walking canes.
