International Conference of Vision and Eye Research

What an incredible two days at the International Conference of Vision and Eye Research! It was a fantastic platform for global researchers, clinicians, and professionals to reconnect, share groundbreaking discoveries, and spark exciting new collaborations in vision science.

CEVR was out in full force, with our researchers and Principal Investigators delivering inspiring invited talks, insightful free paper sessions, and engaging poster presentations. A special shoutout to our PIs and research colleagues from the University of Waterloo who flew all the way from Canada to Hong Kong to join us!

Our team made waves with cutting-edge insights across vision science:

Invited Talks:

-Prof. Emmanuel Ho, Ph.D. on biomimetic nanoparticles for treating retinal ischemia-reperfusion injury.

-Prof. Shirley Tang on advanced materials for next-generation ophthalmic devices.

-Prof. Tammy Labreche on shifting perspectives in post-stroke vision, optometric readiness, and the role of visual midline shift.

-Prof. Dennis Tse on the latest developments in D.I.M.S. lenses.

Free Paper Sessions: Huge congratulations to our brilliant presenters—Asfia Soomro, Ph.D. , William Ngo, Liping Zhou, Shing Yan Chung, Joe Sanderson, and Mukhit Kulmaganbetov—whose presentations covered everything from dry eye disease models and novel AMD treatments to advanced retinal imaging and entoptic phenomena.

And the cherry on top? Our CEVR colleagues took home Best Paper Awards! We couldn't be prouder of the hard work, passion, and dedication our team brings to the future of eye health.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making this event such a resounding success.
